Jefferson Blvd - Community Events
First Make Jefferson Beautiful Community Visioning Meeting - June 2015
About 50 community members gathered to learn and discuss ideas for making Jefferson Boulevard a beautiful, safe, and welcoming corridor for people to walk and bike. Attendees enjoyed walking through a series of colorful posters filled with information on bike lane benefits, street tree benefits, and street safety studies. We also got to place stickers and comments on posters displaying streetscape and safety ideas. We were grateful to have our Council Office and the LA Dept of Transportation present for this meeting.
Community Tree Planting Day - February 2016
We had a great time planting 13 new trees on Jefferson Blvd! We had about 20 wonderful, hard-working volunteers. A big thanks to Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative Maintenance Matching Fund and Koreatown Youth and Community Center!
Make Jefferson Beautiful Part 2 Community Meeting - March 2016
About 60 community members came out on March 5 to the second Make Jefferson Beautiful Community Meeting. We got to see all the different bike lane options along Jefferson, as well as other possible walkway and crosswalk safety improvements. We were so grateful to have LA Dept of Transportation Engineer, Robert Sanchez, present to answer questions and to witness the community involvement in this project.
