Over the past 3 months, there has been fairly regular activity at the Jefferson Drill Site. The red circles in the following graphic show days when the workover rig was seen on site.
About a month ago, we spotted a chemical truck parked on the driveway and got some snapshots of the chemical container labels. FMOG is bringing in chemicals like Surfatron DQ-86 that have warning labels clearly stating the damage it can cause to respiratory health, fertility, and even unborn children!
New low - Odor Masking
"Odor control jasmine is a concentrated liquid that is designed to neutralize and eliminate odors." According to the chemical company's website, “These products neutralize H2S odors very effectively.” However, simply masking the odor doesn't eliminate the toxins in the air and still puts families and children at risk of dangerous chemical exposure!
New Community Reporting System
Community Complaint Line 323-553-FMOG (3664) We have set up a new community-led complaint number where you can call at any time to leave a message recording any nuisance you've experienced from the Jefferson Drill Site. These complaints will provide real-time, quantifiable information on the nuisance impacts neighbors face from the Jefferson Drill Site. Residents' reports will be shared with our council office and used to negative community impacts. It’s simple - just call or text and leave a message with what your complaint is and how it’s affecting your daily life. You can call or text complaints to the number
If you have larger sized media to share, you can email: [email protected] We also have a print out of flyers you can share with neighbors about the Community Complaint Line: |
